Allan Dean (born April 29, 1938) is an American trumpeter who has spent much of his career working as a chamber music player in the United States. Mr. Dean's career is particularly well established in the New York musical scene—primarily because of his long involvement with the New York Brass Quintet.

Allan Dean retired from the Yale School of Music in 2019 after thirty years as professor adjunct in the practice of trumpet. Chamber music has been an integral part of his career. In the early music field, he was a founding member of Calliope: A Renaissance Band and the New York Cornet and Sacbut Ensemble.
