4 天之前 · The Indians, long users of Alco 251 engines, got power WAY up - and emissions down to near-EPA levels - by using 251F+ parts, EFI, and new Hispano-Suiza turbochargers. NS has used the same turbos on at least one GE DASH-8 that was upgraded. CD

2025年3月15日 · There are NEW ALCO 251 parts as well as engines being built at FM/ALCO as well as used parts at many dealers across the country and Canada. Many electrical parts are still available from GE as well as other sources.

2023年4月14日 · The engines are coming out operational, and they are placing them in the parking lot. Half are normal rotation, half are reverse rotation. They are sitting in the parking lot of JR Boat Dock in Wickliffe, KY. Just wanted to let you know in case you are interested in obtaining an engine or two if they would fit properly in the older Alco's.

For example the concentration on Alco 251 engines when there are relatively few "G" locomotive models to use them with, and the lack of 244's when there are lots of Aristocraft FA and RS hulks that could be used in diorama scenes.

2025年3月29日 · One of the better Alco mechanics that I've been around stated one time that when the 251 sits with the stack open, you'll get about 6 months out of the turbo if you're lucky due to bearing damage from the water.
