Electra Airways is a Bulgarian charter and ACMI airline with headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria. The airline was founded in 2016 and commenced flight operations one year later in August 2017 with a single Airbus A320 for various tour operators.

Early analysis and sub-scale flight tests showed the tremendous potential of Ultra Short aircraft to minimize space needed on the ground, while offering sizable range and payload capacity. Today, Electra is backed by major strategic partners and investors, and has proven our Ultra Short technology in piloted flight.

Electra has secured 2,200 pre-orders for its groundbreaking EL9 Ultra Short hybrid-electric aircraft. Valued at nearly $9 billion, Electra's order pipeline is one of the largest in the Advanced Air Mobility industry.

Electra’s new clients for EL9 include Akansel and Dieng & Co Engineering in partnership with Flow Aero, Caverton Helicopters, Copenhagen Helicopter and Copenhagen Air Taxi, 5 Star Helicopter Tours, Global Vectra Helicorp, and Helicidade Heilporto.
