The AAI ACR (originally designated as the AAI AIWS) was a prototype assault rifle developed for the Advanced Combat Rifle program. In Phase III of the program, it was one of the top four prototypes, alongside the Heckler & Koch ACR, Steyr ACR, and Colt ACR, while two other prototypes were dropped earlier on in the program before reaching Phase III.
