The Aedui or Haedui (Gaulish: * Aiduoi, 'the Ardent'; Ancient Greek: Aἴδουοι) were a Gallic tribe dwelling in what is now the region of Burgundy during the Iron Age and the Roman period. The Aedui had an ambiguous relationship with the Roman Republic, as well as other Gallic tribes.

Aeduan is introduced as a mercenary monk working for Yotiluzzi, a gold Guildmaster in Dalmotti. He first encounters Safiya fon Hasstrel and Iseult det Midenzi during their botched attempt to exact revenge on Caden, in which the two women mistakenly entrap Yotiluzzi and his entourage.

Aedui, Celtic tribe of central Gaul (occupying most of what was later the French région of Burgundy), chiefly responsible for the diplomatic situation exploited by Julius Caesar when he began his conquests in that region in 58 bc. The Aedui had been Roman allies since 121 bc and had been awarded the title of “brothers.”
