Efuntola Oseijeman Adelabu Adefunmi (born Walter Eugene King, October 5, 1928 – February 11, 2005) was the first documented African-American initiated into the priesthood of the Yoruba religion, who would then go on to become the first African-American to be crowned Oba (King) of the Yoruba of North America in Ile Ife, Nigeria.

Oba Adefunmi convened the first official Ogboni Parliament of Oyotunji Chiefs and land owners in 1973, and later that year founded the Igbimolosa (Priest Council) to oversee priestly education and training, organize laws and rules to govern priestly conduct, ethics and behavior and adjudicate disputes among Orisa-Vodun priests.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, the BCSO communications center received a report of a stabbing Monday around 2:45 p.m. at the village, which is located on Bryant Lane. Adefunmi was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his wounds.

During the fall of 1993, he became the only official representative of traditional religion, to address the Parliament of World Religions in the one hundred year history of that organization.
