Adha Tsho is a natural low altitude lake and pilgrimage place located near a paddy field in Athang Gewog of Wangdue Phodrang District in Bhutan. [1] The surface area of the Adha Tsho is 2.38 ha and situated at an altitude of 1300 m from sea level.

2025年3月11日 · Ada Tsho, or the Adha Pemai Thangka Tsho is believed to be the abode of a mermaid from a higher altitude lake below Pelela in Wangdue Phodrang. The lake is one of the prominent watering holes in the area for wild animals and migratory birds.

Most natural lake names are denoted with the word tsho, meaning "lake" (Dzongkha: མཚོ་; Wylie: mtsho). [8] They may be identified as an individuals, pairs, or groups of lakes.

Tsho or Lake of Athang is situated in Athang Gewog, Wangdue. It adds to the pristine beauty of the landscape in Athang. According to a mythical story, the lake was originally located near Trongsa. In that area, one can still observe traces of a water body.

2022年3月15日 · Supraglacial ponds are visible on the debris-covered surfaces of the glaciers as of Sentinel-2 imagery (08 August 2019). In addition, Thorthomi and Lugge glaciers have debris-free mantled ice along a glacier flowline that directly connect to its proglacial lake. Bechung Tsho (Tsho = lake) is the smallest of four lakes considered for the study.

A handful of lakes in Bhutan are particularly sacred, most often connected to lives of Buddhist saints Guru Rimpoche and Pema Lingpa. For example, Membar Tsho (" Burning Lake "), in the Tang Valley near Bumthang, is heavily associated with Guru Rimpoche, who brought Buddhism to Bhutan and discovered his first terma in the lake in 1475.
