Acklays were amphibious reptilian crustaceans with six deadly claws and razor-sharp teeth native to the planet Vendaxa. They were used as execution beasts by the Geonosians, and one attempted to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala in the Petranaki Arena prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars.

The acklay was a 3.05 meter-tall six-legged predatory mantid native to the planets Vendaxa and Felucia. It had a head full of sharp teeth, and the body of a clawed crustacean.

2021年3月9日 · The acklay was a non-sentient mix of crustacean and reptile with amphibious traits that allowed it to inhabit the water and land of its homeworld of Vendaxa. The gigantic creature was protected by a hard, shell-like carapace of bony nodules. They walked on six hardened, skin-covered claws, and had grappling hands.

They have been found in places ranging from the jungles of Deysum II to the dry, rocky deserts of Geonosis. Acklay have six elongated limbs, which are principally used to swim, crawl, and attack. A hard, leathery carapace, ranging in color from brown to green, protects most of their body with exception to the softer underbelly.

The acklay first appeared in the novelization of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, which was released a month prior to the film's theatrical debut. It has since appeared in a number of other works, including reference guides.
