After attending Plan USA’s Youth Leadership Academy, Aanya led a project for girls’ menstrual health, which evolved into a nonprofit of its own called Global Girls Initiative. Read about her work to end period poverty in her own community!

Aanya left the YLA with a vision to tackle period poverty in her community. She led her a leadership project, which evolved into a nonprofit of its own called Global Girls Initiative. And through her work, more than 300,000 period products were donated to local schools, domestic violence shelters and other community organizations!

2024年9月19日 · Through EJ Grassroots, Aanya developed an innovative EJ curriculum that allows students to fully comprehend complex environmental issues. The curriculum offers a powerful tool to enrich the education of 350,000 students with environmental justice principles.

2025年2月10日 · The protagonist's inner turmoil is palpable; while she seeks justice, she also harbors a deep-seated thirst for revenge against those who caused her such profound suffering. Her path is fraught with challenges as she battles not only the individuals who put her in prison but also the flawed justice system that failed to protect her.

A senior from Troy, Michigan, Aanya is most passionate about global health and advocacy. As a UNICEF Youth Representative last year, Aanya advocated for increased legislation surrounding child marriage in Michigan, lobbied at congressional offices, and spread awareness about healthcare disparities and climate change.
