The MCDU is a combination of a keyboard and a high-performance Liquid-Crystal Display (LCD) that allows pilots to input and modify flight plans. It works in conjunction with the flight management system and has a multifunction display-keyboard interface for data-entry and display of Flight Management System (FMS) data and other aircraft functions.

Honeywell’s Multipurpose Control and Display Units, MCDU-1 and MCDU-2, are no longer covered by Standard or Extended MSP-Avionics and are facing impending component obsolescence as OEM support nears its end. At Duncan Aviation, we recommend operators upgrade to the MCDU-R.
