2009年2月25日 · I will say that the AVSnap forum is pretty good. there doesn't seem to be very many people that really use the software but the creator is active in the forum and very helpful. I keep hearing however, that if you ever have hopes of using d-Tools, that you should do your drawings in VISIO, b/c they can later be used with dtools.

Learning AVsnap. Even though the AVSnap is a free software, you can get out of it only what you put into it. What you need to put into it is a little time.

2009年3月23日 · What we need is 2-3 people that start sharing, and then everyone else will follow. Although we include some libraries with the product, most of them are just for reference. We are hopping that designers and installers like you will take the lead and extend the AVSnap capability with powerful up to date libraries from different manufacturers.

2013年6月28日 · I used AVSnap pretty extensively for everything from installation diagrams, to elevations for sales, etc. before ever trying Visio. I recently got Visio and after an initial learning curve getting the hang if it's differences, I love it, and find it's much quicker than AV Snap for a quick to scale drawing, and export to .pdf.

I have found it to be very powerful; so much in fact that I've been using it almost 100% since 2006. Oh yeah, and it's FREE!! I recently wrote an article about AVSnap. 2009年3月11日 · I have sent an email to try and create a Diagram Creating Tool, so that you can just enter in the Total number of Audio Inputs/outputs, Component Video inputs/outputs, Speaker inputs/outputs, etc, etc and have a detailed block diagram created for you.

2013年6月28日 · Looking at the history of posts about AVSnap here and on IP, I don't see a build up of interest as I would expect, given my optimism about the tool. That gives me some concern about leaping in. I don't fancy spending 40 hours building libraries and fussing to create my first designs only to learn eventually that this tool has some fatal flaws.

2008年8月29日 · AVsnap takes some time to build your main blocks (AVR's , Speakers, etc) but once done, they lay out pretty quick. One of the guys from the forum, sent me examples of what he's done, he'd been using AVSnap for a long time now more for commercial jobs, but his drawings were very professional.

2013年2月1日 · I downloaded a copy of AVSnap and started working with it. It seems like a good choice, but I don’t love the fact that it is free and could go away at any time. I’m also looking at SmartDraw for the floor plans and elevations.
