ATH-R70x sounds a little dryer, with better detail and clarity, also slightly better bass and midrange texture. Overall ATH-R70x sounds less coloured than HD650, to my ears ATH-R70x is more natural sounding. ATH-R70x also has slightly better dynamic and spaciousness.

With crystal clear imaging and a near-perfect neutral sound signature, these headphones need to be in the same conversation as the Sennheiser HD600 as a benchmark in the $300 price category.

2023年8月13日 · The deciding factor is comfort. I read about people complaining about clamping force and weight on the Senns and Sundara (though not so much the AKG). The ATH-R70X have the weird looking and beautifully functional "wings" below the overhead headband and they are nearly antigravity. I have forgotten I am wearing them.

2015年5月2日 · The ATH-R70X are still probably the best bet. Audio-Technica's other "studio" headphones are closed-back and there are complaints about bad build quality (breaking hinge) on the ATH-M70X (closed) in the same price range.

2018年11月25日 · it does alright when you don't have issues with the braided sleeve, I do wish those cables on eBay existed back when I bought my R70X, so I could have saved 90ish dollars. Just so you know surf cable's are not cheap, they charge $120 dollars for 4 Feet, $140 for 5 Feet standard cables and then offer $200-$240 for OCC.
