2013年11月10日 · Well it looks like I might be switching to an LQ9 or LS swap in my AMX. I am wanting to find a good used original stock long block. I will probably be shopping for an LQ9 or all aluminum LS engine. I will be running a carburetor. Not sure about the trans. PG or Turbo?? Any thoughts on an LQ9 intake/carb/cam swap,headers and trans?

2009年12月21日 · Get SBC adapter for the LS1, then you can either get universal hot rod mounts to weld in or make plates to fit on top of the AMC mounting points. AMC put the point just about in the same place most other US makers did, so they all but line up. Make or buy what you need, do a little welding, and you're in!

2015年5月25日 · The AMC is as modern as the typical pushrod 350 Chevy -- unless you're getting into LS motors with EFI. Most people know Chevys and know little about AMCs, so they can the AMC. You have lots of expertise here -- keep the Chevy guys away from your motor and give us a chance to eliminate the problems first.

2019年6月14日 · LS swap is going to get you on all the little modifications, wiring, fabrication to get it all working, not the initial motor purchase price. The 360 just drops right in place of the 304, wires connect right up, trans hooks up and will be much easier to upgrade to a better manual trans when it does blow up.

I wanted to share the build of my 1968 AMC AMX that I have dubbed the "The Kenosha Corncob" and what my plans are going to be along the way... Backstory, in high school I bought a 68 AMX 390 Auto from the original owner. It was very complete and all original, but had faded paint with an interior to match.
