2021年7月3日 · AMD gives you much smoother performance at the same FPS, hence better results. Get a AMD ryzen 5 3600, or if you get cash to spare, a 5600X. I am not sure of the performance, but it will not get better than that. Much better IPC than Intel, and the clockspeed difference is neglible.

2025年1月11日 · I swapped my 7600x for a 9800x3d and now Oni hangs for about 100ms every few seconds. Sometimes it hangs longer, around 500ms. I could observe in hwinfo that the GPU sometimes slows down to 0 MHz, apparently the entire engine stops? I tried to record a video of it, but the recording doesn't make it look as bad.

2021年9月28日 · It's mostly AMD results. All the AMD 5xxx series pretty much score the same so 5600x, 5800x, 5900x and 5950X. Having better RAM speeds 3733, 3600, 3200 the higher the better give a bump in performance.

2024年6月24日 · I do not have any performance issues in ONI since I upgraded to an AMD 7800X3D. I usually play classic-start, so large bases. Also note that Intel gives a much worse experience at lower FPS than AMD does, due to inferior task-switching, so 30 FPS on AMD may feel more like 60FPS on Intel.

2023年1月5日 · I built it specifically for ONI (I am not kidding). I bought a Core i5-10600k to replace the i5-6600k. I bought that CPU for its single core performance in games and as others have noted ONI is single core (most games still are). As ONI saves a lot, it also utilizes a lot of memory to compile the save games.

2020年10月13日 · Single core performance is what you want. So from what I have read 10th gen i9 intel still wins if you have lots of money, but not by much compared to reasonably priced amd. Graphics doesn't matter much. Even going back to a 960 you should be fine. It doesn't win over Zen 3 that's coming in a few weeks. I haven't seen the new benchmarks.
