What does the pins on the cpu have to do with upgrading lol. You can do that with both lga sockets and pga sockets. It’s not like the pins aren’t useable after you use it once. Not to mention motherboards only last a couple generations (AMD is really good at keeping the same socket for multiple generations).

Also if the Processor was sold to you wasn't in its original AMD packaging and thus was damaged, it probably wouldn't be covered anyways.
