2024年11月9日 · The mounting pegs on the AM3/3+AM4/AM5 are the same though the screw distances though the screw hole distancing for AM4 and AM5 are identical. If your cooler states on the package that it's AM4 compatible, it'll work with your AM5 platform.

2017年8月20日 · No, AM4 coolers in general are not compatible with AM3, otherwise why the hell do you think everyone on AM3 has to order new mounting hardware? I just don't know if that specific block is able to be retrofitted with an AM4 backplate like AM3 coolers are to AM4.

2014年8月5日 · Only AM3 Motherboards can possibly handle AM3+ CPU's (not very many AM3 boards do). The primary reason it won't work is because Bulldozer and Piledriver do not have a DDR2 memory controller.

2013年4月8日 · The 2 are not backwards compatible. You can use AM3 CPU in AM3+ socket, not the other way around. You need an AM3+ motherboard. I would recommend something like the Asrock 970 extreme3 for $75 unless you're a micro ATX, at which point something from Asus would be a good solution.

2015年12月20日 · Yes, you can use AM2/AM3?AM3+ heatsinks with FM2+ APUs/CPUs. The brackets/mounts are the same dimensions. What you have to make sure of is that the heatsink is of sufficient cooling power (TDP rating) to handle the CPU/APU you are intending to cool. The 212 EVO is good for all but the FX-9xxx series of CPUs. The H70 will be fine as well.
