2025年1月23日 · The A400 competition has the high rib, adjustable comb, recoil reduction, nice wood and a price point less than this new gun. The blue and black reciever are the same guns and personally I think they look better.

2021年12月22日 · The A400 is based off of the 391 Xtrema gas system, with the main difference being an updated “self cleaning” piston. The return spring is located around the mag tube, so there will never be a need to remove the stock for cleaning, even if the gun is submersed in water.

2022年3月28日 · The A400 utilizes a design that more resembles the Old Franchi 712/720 gas system, and 391 Xtrema line. The main difference between the A400 and 391 Xtrema being the updated "self cleaning" piston. The 12 gauge A400 models are reliable with just about any load, and are among the best all around autoloaders made IMO.

2022年8月19日 · A friend of mine asked to change the shim between the receiver and the stock on his a400. Since I’ve done that on my Beretta 391 I figured it would be easy. NOT ! He didn’t give me the owners manual. He also didn’t state if he felt the pitch was too high or low.

2024年12月23日 · My A400 Excel Sporting came with IC, M, and IM, I use for sporting clays. I bought a CYL and LM extended Carlson choke. I use the CYL and the LM, but not the Beretta chokes. The CYL for close targets and the LM for longer. The IC and M are not that much different from the Cyl/LM, so probably using the IC and M would have worked.

2023年9月20日 · The A400 has much nicer fit and finish and it decent wood versus the A300 black plastic and goofy lime green trim. For a dedicated clays gun, the A400 is probably the better choice from a resale perspective. Might consider a low mileage used A400 which can be had in the $1500 range.

2024年3月1日 · The serrated ring on the piston is designed to keep the gas valve chamber area clean on the A400 xcel. The same was true for the serrated edge on the 391 Urika II piston. Unless you're really anal about cleaning guns the kit isn't really required.

2013年3月21日 · I have owned 390's and 391's and they are good guns. I now own the A400 extrem and A400 Xcel Sporting both have the Kick Off recoil systems With the KO 400's you get the feel of less recoil then the 300 series guns. The new valve system will run cleaner with less maintence. The new barrel and choke system provide a better pattern performance.

2022年3月31日 · Most of the #4 and #5 (lead shot) pattern the best through a choke constriction of 0.660-0.685". I'd pick up a Carlson's choke in the 0.665" and see which of the shells you have pattern the best through that choke.
