The GE (General Electric) 7FDL is a series of four-stroke prime-movers or diesel engine (motor) models built by GE from 1956 to 2004, but is still in production for export models.

The B36-7 model was manufactured between 1980 and 1985, and was fitted with a 16-cylinder 7FDL16 engine. The model was designed as a successor to the U36B. A total of 222 B36-7's were built for North American railroads, and a further eight units were delivered to a Columbian coal mining operation.

6 天之前 · Was "FDL" ("DL" for Diesel Locomotive) a GE designation, introduced. used in early U-series locomotives? wasn't enough to give the U25B a fully debugged and trouble-free engine. (I'm afraid I haven't said much here that isn't common knowledge. Sorry.)

A low-emission 16-cylinder 7FDL engine and a GE locomotive prototype were built and tested for performance demonstration, function evaluation, and design optimization. The GE low-emission 7FDL engines and locomotives have been in production.
