It often will hang when trying to load a folder or file. Sometimes when watching a video it will seem to pause for 1-2 minutes and then just continue playing.

May 1, 2018 · If you just want to add the HDD as additional storage for your system, you only need to plug it in and boot into Windows. In Windows open up Disk Management and make the disk partition scheme GPT and format it as NTFS. Finally, if Windows did not automatically give your new drive a drive letter, then manually assign it one using Disk Manager. Done!

Jul 14, 2020 · My 6Tb external backup hard drive was having problems. I decided to reformat it. When I tried it failed & Windows identified it as a RAW drive, not NTFS. I tried Seagate Tools but that said the drive was okay. I deleted the volume & created a Simple Volume, then formatted to NTFS but it now only reads 1.5Tb.

Oct 20, 2024 · The syntax I used to remove the 6TB SATA HDD was:.....TreatAsInternalPort REG_MULTI_SZ 1 which worked OK but to remove the 2TB SATA HDD as well I used the syntax:.....TreatAsInternalPort REG_MULTI_SZ 1,4 which didn't work; the 2TB SATA HDD is still listed as 'removable'. Both HDD's have 'hot-swapping' disabled in the BIOS.

Jan 19, 2021 · The 4TB HDD drive does show up in my Asus bios, but not as a bootable drive, only the SSD and my CD/DVD drive show up as bootable. The HDD shows up and passes all checks with Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics tool. The HDD also shows up under Windows Device Manager, its says it is working properly and the best drivers are installed.
