2012年8月24日 · The AI is an outstanding cartridge however, as Mud somewhat alluded to, cases can be hard to find for the 6mm Rem. The 6x284 will outrun both with much easier to find cases however, I do not believe that case suits light bullets.

2011年10月11日 · Many years ago I rechambered a heavy barreled Ruger M77 .243 to 244 Ackley improved (6mm AI). I had no chronograph but my gun thrived on hot loads of 4831. Accuracy was always best with top end loads and was very good for a stock heavy barrel rifle.

2012年2月20日 · In the AI, add 200 fps in a zero freebore reamer with R#19 with the 80g with a cci 250 primer or Fed 215. In the std Rem 700 in 6 Rem factory, I used 85g TSX with R19 at 3400 fps. This is an amazing deer and hog load. The 6 Rem and AI thrive on the long actions.

2007年8月12日 · 6mm AI Loads Tyler, let me know how it works for you. I am getting ready to have a 6x284 built, and I will be using the 87grn V-Max too, for my varminting. I will be using a 30", 1-8.5 twist, Krieger barrel. I will also use the 105 and 107 grn VLD Bullets. My last 6x284, with a 30" barrel, pushed the 87grn V-Max at 3730fps.

2008年4月24日 · I have a 6mm AI and am pleased with it. If you push it, the 6mm Ackley should outdo the 243 Ackley, but they are pretty similar. Make sure you get a 1-10" twist to stabilize the big Bergers. The 6mm AI is said to have longer throat life since the neck is longer. Both shoot wonderfully flat for a long ways with little recoil.
