2020年9月12日 · If you search through the forum for 6MGTE or 5MGTE, the usual results you get indicate that the owner either lost a piston, damaged a turbo, or blew a head gasket. When new forum members discuss what motor should they use, everyone says that the 5M and 6M just can't stand up to boost.

2004年11月3日 · I've hit ~250hp/400tq with a factory build 6M-GTE @ 13psi. The stock HG just won't take the abuse, but the pistons will. I've recently megasquirted (MSnS) the blue car, but have only managed 220 HP @ 7psi. Still got some bugs to work out.

While the M family was born with a chain-driven single camshaft it evolved into a belt-driven DOHC system after 1980.

2003年1月2日 · Heck a engine gasket set, even a cheapie, is ~$100. Then start figuring a new water pump, rings, bearings, pistons and so on not to mention machining labor. You can probably get by without rebuilding either. I think the general consensus is that adding the T into 5MGE generally runs around a 800-1000 dollars.
