DNB was established in early March 2021 to drive the development of the 5G (fifth-generation) infrastructure in Malaysia. It offers 5G as a wholesale network service to other telecommunication companies.

DNB will enable key 5G capabilities which are Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC), Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (uRLLC), and Network Slicing.

KUALA LUMPUR, 4 February 2025 – Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) and Ericsson have launched 5G Advanced technology on DNB's network, making it one of the first networks to launch this capability. This new technology, leveraging AI, enhances user experience with ultra-low latency and high throughput to bring a truly immersive experience.
