Why I carry a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 - Ruger Forum
2008年5月27日 · Not to "hi-jack" the thread, but I am strongly considering a 45-70, but need help in selecting the gun. I want a longer range gun than a Lever Action, for Elk and Buffalo. I can't decide between a Ruger #1 and a Sharp's. I'll probably get a "Guide Gun" next year, or the year after, as I do want one for Bear Hunting.
.45-70 Incoming? + advice please - Ruger Forum
2014年9月5日 · A guide gun or a "shorty" Cowboy like this 18.5" limited run CBA 1895 made for Cabela's is super light to carry through the woods all day, just not much fun to shoot from the bench at the range. If you can find a ported barrel Guide gun, the recoil is tamed down a bit and they have a recoil pad which helps further.

I have a single shot Henry in .357 and it shoots well. On the rack was a used Marlin at $700+. The new one was $900+. The used one does look like the new models and showed little use.

.410 in a .45-70 #1 anyone? - Ruger Forum
2013年7月30日 · I was reading in "Gun Digest" the other day a sidebar on shotgun bores, etc. The writer made the statement that you could shoot a .410 shell in a .45-70 and it made me think. Has anyone on the forum ever tried that? And Why? Or better stated what circumstances made you try it. I know you can shoot 410 and .45 Colt in a Tarsus Judge.

2024年7月29日 · And that is part of it too. The "new" straight wall offerings seem inclined to target its audiances per the guns that we love. Most certainly designed to take advantage of the things those inclined to one gun type or another appreciate most. This is just some junk fmj I use in the legend for cases. I do not, yet load the nickel plated main load ...

2013年9月22日 · I have a no.3 in 45-70, it's a light gun and of course it will kick hard with the new hot loads, the action is strong enough it's the same action as the no.1 but the no.3 istock is designed to mimic a 1800's style. I shoot trapdoor loads out of mine, great for hunting in the brush and won't rip your shoulder off.
