2006年6月4日 · Finally got ahold of some Starline 414 Super Mag. The perfect base for 401 WSL - reduce the rim to 0.458" and the length to 1.500". Presto - done. The 414 Super Mag is to 401 WSL what the 357 Maximum is to 351 WSL.

2023年1月21日 · Not always easy to find but if you can get 9.3 X 72R cases. Turn rim to .457 dia and back chamfer. Cut case to 1.55 and taper expand to .410 dia Trim to length and size in .401 die with the expander removed. 2015年7月6日 · I do not suggest using the .401 WSL for Grizzly. Otherwise, the .401 is an interesting cartridge, a near Super Mag in length (1.500) with a rimless case.

2016年3月10日 · I have a set of older .401 dies. I cut a fired .35 Rem case to length, then formed it in the .401 in small steps. A belt formed at the base of the case that I could remove with a drill press and file (I don't have a lathe). Is the belt that formed common? There are other options for forming the .401 cases but the .35 Rem brass is what I now have.

After reading Paco Kelly's article on heavy bullets for the 41 Magnum, I've been thinking that this would be an interesting combination for the .401 WSL.

2025年1月25日 · For the 32 WSL brass, I use 32-20 brass. 35 WSL I use 38 or 357 brass. 351 WSL I use 357 brass. 401 WSL I use 414 Super Mag brass. I don't cut extractor grooves in any of the brass, and they all eject perfectly. These rifles are pretty forgiving. Accurate Molds has a mold for each rifle. The trickiest part is reducing the rim sizes without a lathe.
