.280 Rem - Hunt Talk
2020年6月17日 · I have heard of the.280 AI for years but never looked very closely at the cartridge. I did a google search on it and it seems like it may be worth considering for sure, especially since I can handload. I found it particularly interesting that you can fire the .280 Rem through the .280 Ackley and wind up with fire formed .280 Ackley brass...

2011年12月16日 · I just bought a .280 Rem mod 7600 for my son for Christmas this year (used) the serial numbers say its a 1988 vintage. Up here (Northern New York- Adirondack Mts.)even where the whitetail can go over 200 pounds we use the highest grain you can throw at em. I know friends with this caliber that try to go 180 grain. Thoughts on M77 in .280 Remington - Ruger Forum
2013年11月20日 · The max loads listed may be near the SAAMI max, and not the 'true' max pressure, giving the .270 a slight edge, if you're using the SAAMI max pressure for your max loads. (I believe the same also holds true for the .280 Rem) You are right about the .30 cal (and .284cal) needing a heavier bullet to have equal or better SD and BC than the .277
280 Rem thoughts - Hunt Talk
2020年1月10日 · I asked a reputable gun smith about the .280 Rem back in or about 1988-89. He told me he didn’t know anything about them. I bought a .30-06. We didn’t have all the information at our fingertips then, I missed out. Good luck getting the load your gun prefers.
Opinion for .280 Rem bullet weight - Hunt Talk
2002年12月31日 · I want some advice please. My primary rifle for all large game hunting is a 30-338 wildcat and my secondary or backup rifle is a .280 Remington. What, in your opinion would be the optimum bullet weight for the 280 as a mule deer/elk thumper?
1-A chambered in .280 Remington - Ruger Forum
2016年12月27日 · The 280 is a great round for a reloader because it is a 7mm, lots of great bullets to pick from. If you don't reload then the 270 or 30-06 are better choices based on both cost and performance. I own all three and have shot game with all, no real difference on making the shot and making a humane harvest.
.280 Remington Powders - Hunt Talk
2017年1月20日 · In my 280 Remington I used 140 gr. Partitions. Shot a lot of elk, deer, and antelope with that rifle and load. IMR4350 was the powder I used but H4350 or H4831SC would both work just as well.

Fire Forming brass - 280 Rem to 280 AI - Hunt Talk
2017年1月20日 · The rifle is a Remington 700 Mountain. Cool gun, but a .280 AI with a 24 or 26 inch barrel sounds mighty interesting. I use Winchester brass pretty much exclusively, had good luck with it, but they don't make their casings in .280 AI (yet). And the only .280 Rem brass I've been able to get my hands on is nickel plated.
Ruger No.1 in .280 Rem - Ruger Forum
2010年7月30日 · Over the years, the 280's seemed to have brought somewhat higher prices than more common chamberings. They are not uncommon, and they had a long production run (obviously no longer made), but Ruger, for whatever reason, never made a lot of them. I have a nice non-prefix AH in 280 and a 132-prefix B with custom LH wood.
