2019年1月13日 · The 270 SAUM case is about right to drive the 170 grain Berger to 3000 FPS and have a full case of powder. If you look at the 7 SAUM shootimg the 180 Grain Berger, it is accurate and wins. The BC on that 170 grain bullet is really good.

2018年7月20日 · After looking at the ballistics it seems that the 270 saum has at least 300 fps on most 6.5 creed loads. Does anyone have experience with the 270 saum? Seems like it should be a round worth exploring.

2020年11月1日 · The SAUM will barely outshoot the WSM in competition but in a hunting rifle the 7WSM/7-270wsm/7-300wsm is a better option in my opinion. What most still don't understand is a given bullet combo most often has a velocity node window it likes to shoot at. The WSM case will not get to the next node but it will run THE node at less pressure.

2015年1月10日 · I would most definitely go 7saum as adg/gunwerks brass is superior to anything for 270wsm, and bullet selection is much better. 7saum has 5 gr less powder capacity and a bigger bore, so more barrel life too. 7saum is a notoriously accurate case, but the one 270wsm Tikka I had back in the day would stack 140 accubond into tiny groups too.

2009年11月24日 · The .270 WSM is a fine round, but in my experience the 7mm SAUM does all the same things and a little easier. Unless you just like to dink with various cartridges (something I admit to myself) I'd leave it alone.

2016年8月21日 · Per SAAMI the .270 win, the 7 saum, the 7 Rem Mag all have slow twist barrels and light bullets. If you get a fast twist barrel, longer throat, and handload heavy for caliber bullets you can get the advantage of high BC.

2006年2月24日 · I'd recommend a 7mm08 and 308 and forget the SAUM personally. Ammo is easier to come by and she could shoot it a lot more and get good with it. I have both the 300 and 7mm SAUM, the 300 is on a model 7 action and the 7mm a standard 700SA. With 165gr bullets the 300 has a fair amount of recoil with a 150gr it feels more like a 30/06.

2003年12月9日 · The 270 WSM is a DRAMATIC cartridge when loaded with the 90 gr. Sierra on top of somewhere around 70 gr. of RL 19. Develops an accurate 3610 fps from my coyote hunting buddies 24" barrel and DESTROYS coyotes.
