2013年4月10日 · I cannot imagine a 6mm or even worse a 22 using the 6.5 PRC case. IMO the 6mm-284 is the largest case for the 6mm and perhaps the 22-243 Win is plenty in the case capacity arena. 30" 1 in 7.5 twist 6mm-284 yielded 3500 fps with a 30" barrel. Barrel lasted 1000 accurate rounds. Never used it for prairie dogs or target competition.

Im curious to the OP as im a mew member and cant pm yet, how much fb you run? Im thinking .120-.140” to run the 85.5 bergers. Which reamer print did you use? VERY interesed in this but theres zero info!

2018年1月16日 · The reality is that the .22-284 is already in the books and necking down the PRC case is just another way to skin a cat. Yes you might make a case supporting the 22 PRC for use in a true short action but the .22-284 fits the SA as well. Now, that does not satisfy those with the wildcat instinct for creating 'new' cartridges.

2022年9月17日 · The 6 PRC Primal's short/fat nature with the Ackley shoulder should provide a bit better burn characteristic, resulting in wider nodes. The Weatherby being on a 308 bolt face is obviously a long action affair, where as this is able to be setup perfectly for the heaviest bullets in 6mm while staying in a short action.

2019年10月11日 · I have a 26" 6.5 PRC and my buddy built a 22". With 156 berger handloads, my 26" is running 3,000 FPS and my buddy's 22" is running 2890 FPS. I think the PRC is an excellent caliber for short barrels... I would like to build an 18" or 20" in the future. Both of these are on tikka actions.

2023年10月26日 · The new 300 PRC and 7 mm PRC surpass the 300WINMAG and 7 mm Remington mag when using traditional twist rates… not by much however. The 6 mm arc is a fantastic light deer antelope coyote round, and it will only be better with these new longer lighter bullets. The 22 arc is not just a necked down 6 mm arc …they did have to lengthen it slightly.
