1UP (One United Power) is a graffiti crew from Berlin, Kreuzberg. [1] They have been active since 2003. [2] 1UP have been described as "one of the most well-known graffiti crews in the world" [3] and are known for their bombing (large amount of tags put up in one night), rooftop paintings, and wholecar, wholetrains . [4]

In Berlin, once you learn of 1UP, such a phenomenon takes hold. Visually, as a graphic tag, the name is powerful. But what it stands for – One United Power – is also significant. 1UP operate as a guerrilla group, presenting a united front, rather than spotlighting individual members.

Depicted are two distinctly different 1UP tags painted onto the sides of buildings in a way where they are unmissable to pedestrians walking along the street.

One errant, unauthorized tag on a motorcycle last year saw 1UP members having to explain themselves to a local gang of Hells Angels. Many of 1UP’s members have taken to journeying across the globe, tagging other metropolises as they do Berlin.

There are international artists in the crew, men and women from cities all over Europe. It‘s a family, where „strength in unity“ is the rule: One Crew, One Love, One Power. 1UP stands for the Zeitgeist of Berlin like no other contemporary collective.
