2022年1月21日 · On the 1KZ-TE's I do the water pump, timing belt, valve clearance,tensioner, belts, rad cap and all fluids right away when I first buy them then every 100,000 K. Keeping the revs up under load in the heat I think is the trick for long head life.

2024年11月11日 · According to RoughTrax's listing for 1KZ-TE glowplugs, glow plugs breaking and falling into the combustion chamber is caused by using poor quality glowplugs (but maybe take that with a grain of salt as they are selling glowplugs lol) Out of curiosity, why add an intercooler rather than just getting one of the intercooled models?

I really like my 1990 LJ78 and am happy enough with the "light duty" Land Cruiser that gets mocked mercilessly by the rest of the LC world.

2023年6月20日 · 1994 Hilux Surf 1KZ-TE non intercooled, little over a year ago I replaced the cracked cylinder head. Pre Turbo EGTs happily climb over 700 C on long hillclimbs. When I let off the gas temps spike further to 900ish for ~10 seconds.

2024年10月20日 · That being said, and just my opinion, the EFI system of the 1KZ-TE is beyond robust enough save for the issues triggered by the common ECU capacitor failure. If delt with properly the electronic injection system's reliability is on par with that of the mechanical's if not even more so giving it's relative simplicity.
