2023年10月22日 · 1GB= 1000MB. 1GB =1024MB. Both conversions are correct. 1000MB = 1GB is the de jure standard laid out by the IEC and is used by HDD/SSD companies and Apple. 1024MB = 1GB is the de facto standard used by everyone else. Microsoft, Linux, Sony, Android for example all use this.
500 Mb Fiber vs 1 Gb Fiber for Home - will I even notice?
2022年6月29日 · Right now I have I think a 100 Mb cable connection. It's 100 down and maybe 25 up. It seems "fine". I got a flyer from a local fiber provider that offers symmetrical speeds and either the 500 Mb or 1 Gib service looks good to me.

This sounds backwards. If 1GB is really 1024 MB, then there would not be less space on a 2 GB drive than the label. There would be more, 2048 MB to be exact. If I've done the math wrong and I have all the equations upside down, then instead of a GB being 1024 MB, it's 977 MB, and two times that rounds to 1.95. That's WAY above the ~1.81 cited.

2022年4月12日 · For these people, even 1Gb is overkill cause they’ll never be able to use all that bandwidth or take advantage of the low latency of fiber without using Ethernet anyway. 2.5/5/10Gb networking hardware is expensive, and you would need a good amount of stuff to really utilize it - NICs, switches, routers, APs, etc.
