Jul 7, 2016 · The 1974 GTO doesn't get much love. I well remember when it was introduced and it was controversial even back then. I was driving my 66 as a daily driver back then and closely examined the 1974 GTO when it was new. It was a nice attempt to "revive" the original intent of the GTO. It was a nice little package and I loved the "shaker" hood scoop.

Jan 8, 2025 · Another member in the GTO club also has a Quicksilver shifter, and another '66 owner uses a Bowtie Overdrives plate to change the stock shifter to work with the new 4-speed auto trans. On the Bowtie conversion with the stock shifter a new plate is installed inside the shifter that aligns the detents correctly.
