Maki is the leader of a female gang who fights for justice, but she ends up being framed and sent to a sadistic woman's prison. Will Maki be able to escape and take revenge?

The film follows Maki, a sukeban who with her group of girls, offer protection to women and fight yakuza injustice, a staple of pinky violence films, so when a stripper from a yakuza-owned nightclub runs away half-naked seeking help from the abuse, Maki takes her in.

13 Steps of Maki borders on incomprehensible at times with the sheer number of characters and stuff that it wants to pack in. I've genuinely no idea how Makoto Naito managed to pack so much stuff and people into about 78 minutes, and yet still find time for some great fights and action.

Etsuko plays Maki ‘of the 13 steps’, Martial arts expert and leader of the ‘Stray Cats’ girl-gang, who gets in trouble with an obnoxious rich girl as well as a band of evil Yakuza pimps.

It’s pulpy and absurd, but so filled with style and sleaze that it’s hard not to enjoy. Her wearing the number 13 and picking fights with absolutely everyone is fun, especially when it gets to the wedding finale and taking on samurai with nunchucks.

Action packed girl gang extravaganza 13 Steps of Maki is intensely resistant to exposition, going fully off the deep end within minutes of starting and rarely making much sense.

2024年11月11日 · Maki Hyuga leads an all girl street gang called The Wildcats. They don’t like snobbery from the rich, and they don’t like being pushed around by the yakuza.

From there, the film follows the journey of Maki and her band of downtrodden misfits as they wage war against rival organizations in their territory, before she is eventually framed for a crime she did not commit and placed in a very gnarly woman's prison.

Maki is such a great character! I loved her scrappy attitude and that #13 branding, her ass-kicking outfit with the red gloves is one of my favorite looks in the whole martial arts genre.
