Since 2009, SPUR has led a comprehensive effort to retrofit the buildings and infrastructure that sustain city life. Our goal is to ensure San Francisco’s resiliency and its capacity to not only survive but thrive when a disaster strikes.

Our first event, on February 20, will provide an overview of how the city’s budget works and which budget fixes are being considered.

2025年1月24日 · SPUR President and CEO Alicia John-Baptiste will be leaving SPUR to take on a newly created policy chief role with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office. On February 3, she will join Mayor Daniel Lurie’s administration as Chief of Infrastructure, Climate & Mobility.

SPUR staff would welcome the opportunity to form a task force to investigate these options and develop a more comprehensive policy solution. Addressing housing affordability for Californians requires solutions that go beyond rent control.
