2010年5月12日 · Actually I posted about the poem, "Charge of the Mule Brigade" in the Ladies' Tea thread Poems and Songs of the Civil War # 71. It was an anonymous poem penned by a Union soldier after the Battle of Wauhatchie, Tn. on Oct. 28, 1863.

2019年1月29日 · It was nicknamed the “Mule Ear” carbine because the percussion nipple is mounted on the right side of the gun as is the hammer and when fired the hammer swings sideways to strike the nipple. It was said to resemble a mule’s ear. Jenks was able to secure a U.S. Navy contract in the summer of 1841 for 1,000 carbines.

2015年9月25日 · I just ran across this guy for the first time. It appears he was quite a character in the New Mexico territory for Colonel Canby. An Irish emigrant who had a flare for being in the right place at the right time. I found the story of his "Mule Bomb Attack" to be quite entertaining. So I thought I would share it with you.
