One of the reasons I went from iOS 6 to iOS 9 on my iPad 2 was the demise of FB Messenger on iOS 6, so I might just give iOS 6 another spin on the device (for performance reasons) after reading this. Interesting how an info.plist hack restores the functionality of Messenger.

2011年5月3日 · So today I decided to downgrade again to iOS 6. The process was quite simple but what surprised me, is that the feature in iOS 7 "Activation lock" was kept in iOS 6. I was prompted to input my Apple account linked with the device to activate it. These are good news, because it means that the feature is embed in the firmware, not the OS.

2016年2月6日 · I’m still using an iPhone 4, running iOS 6.x as an iPod, mostly in the car. It can run it, but I refused iOS 7. It still has the iOS 7.x update download on it because there’s no way to remove it, so that’s 3.5 GB of music I can’t put on it. In fact, I used iOS 6.x on that device all the way up to when I got an iPhone 6s with 9.x on it.
