The museum contains the largest collection of pioneer, Indian and Alaskan artifacts on the Pacific Coast. It also encompasses a History Lab Learning Center for children, the state's largest permanent model railroad exhibit, space for special traveling exhibits, 215-seat indoor auditorium and outdoor amphitheater.

2025年1月9日 · The Washington State History Museum will be temporarily closing its doors from Jan. 13-Feb. 17 while it undergoes a limited demolition to make way for a new permanent installation. The limited demolition will occur in the Great Hall of the WSHM.

Washington State History Museum is 40-minutes south of Seattle in Tacoma (check hours & admission). It's located in Tacoma's vibrant Museum District at 1911 Pacific Avenue, within walking distance of the Tacoma Museum of Glass, and Tacoma Art Museum.
