SEANF aims to organize its members as an institution for the protection, promotion, and fulfillment of effective human rights for communities in the South East Asian region. Recalling the initiative made during the 4th Workshop on the ASEAN Mechanism on Human Rights jointly organized by the ASEAN Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism.

SEANF aims to organize its members as an institution for the protection, promotion, and fulfillment of effective human rights for communities in the South East Asian region. The implementation of SEANF refers to the SEANF Rules of Procedures (RoP), which was the last amendment approved on November 10, 2017 at the 14th Annual Meeting in Manila.

Recognizing the commitment to effectively promote and protect human rights and fundamental freedom of the peoples of South East Asia Region; We members of the SEANF hereby adopt these rules as amended.

As a sub-regional network, SEANF seeks to promote and protect human rights in South East Asia through collaborative framework – undertake joint projects or activities to address issues of common concern such as human trafficking, migrant workers, statelessness, business and human rights, as well as Indigenous Peoples.

As the network of NHRIs in the sub-region, the SEANF plays a crucial role in the protection and promotion of human rights in South East Asia.
