2011年3月17日 · The MD-11 was designed with a smaller horizontal stabilizer than other airliners. That, plus the shifting of its center of gravity further aft, all to reduce drag and thus fuel burn, causes it to be unusually light on the controls.

So I've done about 10 flights in Rotate's MD-11 version 1.07. I got this plane at release, and its no secret, it was pretty bad. Lots of bugs, autopilot problems, poor sounds. I pretty much just shelved the plane until now. After some research, I decided to give the 1.07 release, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the progress Rotate has made.

2014年10月22日 · After flying the MD-11 for eight years I think it's a fantastic machine. However you have to realize and treat it like its a though breed racing house. I've been on a hourse a couple of times but if you gave me a racing hourse and said take a couple of laps around the track I would be out of my league. So too with the MD-11.

The MD-11 has a very similar Honeywell FMS to the one we’re modeling in the A320, so a lot of the core behavior in terms of lateral navigation should be the same.

The Rotate MD-11 is a very nice and advanced aircraft. I've heard other people absolutely crapping on this plane, but this plane is actually impressive for what I paid for it.

For example, MD-11s that are used for cargo operations may have a more pointed exhaust nozzle in order to improve fuel efficiency.

2023年2月3日 · The Rotate MD-11 has auto stepclimbs. In the INIT page of the MCDU where you insert the flight plan, you’d insert something like 330/350/370/390 and roll the FCP knob to 39,000 feet, turn on the Profile mode for VNAV and the plane will do the stepclimbs.

The airlines that operated the MD-11 in passenger service didn’t operate them for long, most were converted into freighters. Whereas the 747-400 had a great market for use in long range flights, so they operated for much longer in passenger service than the MD-11.
