Pelletized lime also has binders to form the pellets that will constitute about 9-10% of its volume & mass, so you buy a little bit of inert stuff for the convenience of having pellets.

2010年3月12日 · Around here it is the reverse, powder lime is cheaper. Powder lime will act faster, but it is harder to distribute, A cyclone spreader can't handle it unless the lime is bone dry, and there is no humidity in the air. We mix it with fertilizer to make if flow, and that works pretty good. Pelletized lime flows easily and uniformly.

2024年4月1日 · I'm no expert or scientist but I can tell you from years of using pelletized lime with zero effect the ag lime is the way to go. I have been using ag lime for 3 planting seasons now. Fall, spring, fall and just took a soil sample and my pH is 6.5 in one plot and 6.1 in a very sandy plot. I never got these results with pelletized lime.

2017年2月11日 · You will notice a huge difference in crop performance if you can do some type of deep tillage like sub soiling or chisel plowing before starting a no till program. I always tried to chisel plow or bottom plow after spreading lime to help distribute the lime deeper into the soil profile where the majority of the crops roots grow.

2014年6月6日 · I cut down a 1956, 10 foot wide lime spreader, that I used where we had hard to get to spots, to spread. It's the same as the Ground Buster. It works great when the lime is very dry .... good when there is some moisture in the lime and poor when the lime is wet. Since it is gravity flow, the wet lime will cake up inside and not want to come out.
