The R1250 RT is powerful, handles great, looks good and is lighter than the K1600. The RT with the trunk has the same luggage capacity as the K1600 and gets better mileage (36-38 vs 45-50 mpg).

2021年2月25日 · What to pay attention on a used one before purchase? I do my own maintenance on my bikes so is the K1600 easy to work on? I am 5.7 tall, so pretty short and the LT was a big pain at very low speed. While the Honda is heavier than the LT it is so much easier to operate at low speed. How does the K1600 compares to the LT in that domain?

2016年4月4日 · That's because the K1600 really is the greatest bike most of its riders have ever owned! :bike: Honestly, there were some early issues with leaky water pumps, flaky handlebar switch gear, and fast-wearing rear brake pads, but that's all been pretty well sorted by now.

2021年10月29日 · It has an option for floorboards (mimicking a highway peg as opposed to the flat boards on a Harley), and a reverse gear. The Grand America primarily adds a top case to the "B" model. The "GA" is also governed to a top speed of something like 105 mph. All three of the K1600 windshields are interchangeable, as are many aftermarket parts.

In all honesty, having ridden and "demoed" many bikes, this is the only one that has ever had me thinking about something other than my RS. In fact, earlier that same day (Saturday), I rode a 2017 Harley Street Glide and 2018 Fat Bob.

2015年4月27日 · I have owned the 2014 K1600 GTL for about a year and have put 20,000 miles on the bike in all kinds of riding conditions. A few weeks ago, I bought a 2015 R 1200 RT and have put 1000 miles on it with a mix of twisty roads, winding country roads and highway. I have ridden the RT through 1 rain storm and only in weather from 75-90 degrees.

2011年10月3日 · On the K1600 forum, same owners as this one, RL Lemke has an internal plug he calls the SuperPlug. It is exactly that. A threaded plug with a 1/4" drive welded to it. When changing oil on the K1600, the inner plug is a 5mm with only 3mm of depth in the head. Strong possibility of stripping out the head or dropping the plug in the sump.

2023年1月11日 · The K1600 is more work to throw around, that's just a fact, but it will hustle through the corners. Some are put off by heavier bikes, which is something BMW understands, hence the RT. I have heard some really positive things about the new 1300 boxer coming.

2011年1月13日 · It will be cheaper from Garmin but you will lose the BMW features and some of the connectivity. It is a 660. Buy the Nav 4 there will be a cheaper version without the mount for the K1600's as they do not need the mount to be compatable.
