The class E 10 is an electric locomotive of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, introduced in 1952. It belongs to the Einheits-Elektrolokomotiven (standardised electric locomotives) program and was built for express passenger service. In 1968 the series was redesignated as class 110 (E10) and class 112 (E10.12).

Die Baureihe E 10 ist eine für die Deutsche Bundesbahn erstmals im Jahre 1952 gebaute Einheitselektrolokomotive für den Schnellzugverkehr. Sie wird seit dem Jahr 1968 als Baureihe 110 sowie ihre Unterbaureihen als Baureihen 112 bis 115 geführt. Die E 10 war lange Jahre die wichtigste Lokomotiv-Baureihe im bundesdeutschen Schnellzugverkehr.

Begin fifties the DB ordered four prototype locomotives of class E 10, the four locomotives were numbered as E 10 001 upto 004. The four locomotives were equiped with different motors and transmissions to test and compare the different driving concepts.
