The Ozarks – 102nd Infantry Division
The 102nd Infantry Division arrived at Cherbourg, France, 23 September 1944, and, after a short period of training near Valognes, moved to the German-Netherlands border. On 26 October, elements attached to other divisions entered combat and on 3 November the Division assumed responsibility for the sector from the Wurm River to Waurichen.

After this one chapter in the hospital, I continued to serve in infantry combat until the end of the war without another scratch, but with many close encounters. The hospital was clean and warm and we had great food to eat.

Rogers Raiders – The Ozarks
The Division CG, desiring specific information concerning the installations on the East bank of the Roer, ordered Lt. Rogers’ patrol to bring back a prisoner. The seven men knocked out two MG nests, killed three Germans and brought back four PWs.

AWON – The Ozarks
The “American WWII Orphans Network” was established in 1991 by Ann Bennet Mix to provide support for the American World War Two orphans. Its purpose was then and is today to provide contact with other AWON orphans, share experiences, and help in the search for information about their fathers who were killed or missing in the war.
Red Ball Members – The Ozarks
Redball ended as suddenly as it had started for us. The Division was alerted for movement and in a few days the first elements were on their way to Holland.
