The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs deals with U.S. foreign policy and U.S. relations with the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

All of the places on the globe where the SCA is present is called ‘The Known World’. The Known World is broken up into twenty kingdoms, which are: Lochac – Australia and New Zealand; parts of Antarctica. Drachenwald – Europe, Africa, Middle East. Avacal – CANADA: eastern British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan.

Regional bureaus are listed by geographic area and by posts falling within their jurisdiction. The organizational symbols of the bureaus are: (1) AF—Bureau of African Affairs; (2) WHA—Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs; (3) EAP—Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs; (4) EUR—Bureau of European Affairs and Eurasian Affairs;
