Fairbank is a ghost town in Cochise County, Arizona, next to the San Pedro River. First settled in 1881, Fairbank was the closest rail stop to nearby Tombstone, which made it an important location in the development of southeastern Arizona.

Fairbank is a Southern Arizona ghost town, and one of the best preserved, thanks to numerous conservation efforts. It’s located in the San Pedro Riparian Conservation Area about 10 miles west of Tombstone.

Fairbank is a "ghost town" located within the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area (NCA), along the San Pedro River. Its life as a town began with the construction of a railroad in 1881, and it soon became an important depot as well as the closest railroad stop to Tombstone, then one of the largest western cities (15,000 in 1882).

Fairbank, now headquartering the San Pedro River Resource Conservation Area, provides walking trails and picnic areas along the San Pedro River. Fairbank is located ten miles west of Tombstone on AZ 82, just east of the San Pedro River on the north side of the road.

This is an old west railroad town originally having many names, becoming Fairbanks and finally Fairbank in 1882. The town survived 90 years but finally became a ghost town in 1972. If you like history you will enjoy the town’s museum, buildings, hiking trails and cemetery.

2019年5月1日 · The loop trail heads out on the West side of town and follows along the San Pedro River's east bank to Willow Wash, where it loops back to Fairbank just below the hills to the east of the river. Some of the sites along the way are the train bridge over the River built in 1927 and now abandon, the old Grand Central Mill ruins, and the town cemetery.
