Larix potaninii is a species of larch conifer in the family Pinaceae. It is found in China and Nepal. The one of southernmost species of the genus Larix, the range of Larix potaninii extends southward almost to 27° N. 秦岭红杉（学名： Larix potaninii Batalin var. chinensis L. K. Fu & Nan Li）是松科、落叶松属红杉的变种。秦岭特有种之一。落叶乔木，高可达15米，树皮灰色或暗灰褐色，裂成薄片状脱落；短枝距状，暗灰色。

2021年6月1日 · Larix potaninii subsp. chinensis responds to different environments by modifying the twig, leaf, stomata characteristics. These traits varied nonlinearly with altitude in both sunny and shady slope, with a reversal point at about 3250 m. There were allometric scaling relationships for the twig-leaf size and the number-size of leaf.

Native of W. China; introduced for Messrs Veitch by Wilson from the neighbourhood of Kangting (Tatsien-lu) in 1904. The leaves have a strong aromatic and distinctive odour when crushed.

Larix potaninii is a deciduous Tree growing to 35 m (114ft 10in) at a medium rate. See above for USDA hardiness. It is hardy to UK zone 5 and is not frost tender. It is in flower from April to May, and the seeds ripen from October to November.
