Garmin Forerunner 245 Review over 5 years ago +3 suggested Watches needs a barometric altimeter in order to be able to track floors climbed. The Forerunner 245 lacks the altimeter, so it's not possible to have it.

If the 630 was a dud it's possible that Garmin will tart up the 245 enough that there won't be anything between it and the 935. But I have to believe there will be a $400 watch between the 245 and 935, whether a 645 or 745.

Hi, I recently got a Forerunner 245 and I saw that there was an Indoor Rowing activity. I can't seem to find an outdoor rowing activity though. I've been using the "Other" activity but I would like to use an activity that is meant for rowing on the water.

But within an hour or so of the data uploading to Connect in the morning, Garmin revises my sleep data to be more accurate. For example, last night I fell asleep around 11:30 pm but this morning sleep data showed me awake until 1:15 am.

I'm rowing tomorrow and from what I understand the Erg data app should now automatically upload to Garmin connect without the need for manual upload. I'm doing this without a forerunner, just using a mobile phone ...

The 245 is significantly better - apart from the first 2 or 3 minutes and in very rapid HR climbs it has been excellent while cycling. I've hit 190 on it and its correctly recorded a 70bpm recovery over a minute. I'm pretty pleased - I've also owned another Garmin OHR watch which was as dire as the VA3 for cycling and 2 fitbits also very poor.

Connect your Forerunner 245 to your computer using the USB cable. Download and unzip Forerunner245_487Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive. From the RemoteSW folder in the unzipped download, copy the GUP3114.GCD into the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder on your device.
