Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh) is the highest mountain in Wales and England. It's one of our most famous and regonizable landmarks and is well worth a visit. Standing tall over the village of Llanberis, Snowdon is a part of a close-knit family of jagged peaks and can offer views of Snowdonia, Anglesey, Pembrokeshire and Ireland.

The mountain has been described as the "busiest in the United Kingdom", and in 2022 it was climbed by 543,541 walkers. There are six main paths to the summit, the most popular of which begins in the town of Llanberis to the north. [4] The summit can also be reached using the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which carried 98,567 passengers in 2021. [5]

Hafod Eryri, the summit building, is now CLOSED FOR THE WINTER. There are no facilities at all at the summit. Hafod Eryri will hopefully re-open on 1 May 2025, when trains return to the summit, weather permitting. (You can read more about the summit building below.) 2022年1月17日 · As a general overview and dependent on which route you take, it’s reasonable to assume that hiking Snowdon could take anywhere between 4-8 hours to complete. The easiest and most popular trail – the Llanberis Path – is a steady walk to the summit which can have you up and down in around 4-6 hours when walking at a decent pace.

Average Time: An average hill walker will take between 5½ and 7 hours to reach the summit and return to the starting point via the Ranger Path. Grade/Difficulty: Rugged hard mountain walk on very uneven ground. This route is the second easiest route up Snowdon and I have seen dog walkers, but the Ranger Path should not be underestimated.
