Steve is a player character from the 2011 sandbox video game Minecraft. Created by Swedish video game developer Markus "Notch" Persson and introduced in the original 2009 Java-based version, Steve is the first and the original default skin available for players of contemporary versions of Minecraft.

Steve is one of the nine default player skins in Minecraft, and the first to be introduced. Steve is typically depicted with wide arms, and brown skin. They have short, dark brown hair, a visible nose, violet eyes, and a beard.

Steve is an unlockable character named "Mr. Minecraft" in the Steam version of Super Meat Boy. The character has a shorter jump height than other characters but can mine squares from the level and place them as platforms.
