2007年12月6日 · 1) Drain the radiator and block of coolant. 2) Replace thermostat and possibly the upper and lower radiator hoses along with the pressure clamps if you have money to do the job thoroughly. 3) Flush the radiator with fresh Toyota coolant.

2009年1月9日 · The two times I replaced the t-stat on my '02. The Toyota part comes with a new gasket in the box. The gasket goes on the thermostat. Be gentle when tightening. Does some of the coolant need to be drained first before the upper hose is removed?

2021年1月4日 · I say just replace them both while you are there since you are going to disturb the seal. I did it with an engine full of coolant. I just took some out of the top of the radiator, You will make a little mess. Might be a good time to replace the thermostat and seal since you have the coolant out. Preventive maintenance

Lift the thermostat out with its gasket. Remove the gasket and discard it. Set a new gasket in the thermostat. Position the thermostat with the jiggle valve facing up. Replace the water inlet and set the nuts in place. Torque the nuts to 14 foot pounds. Fill the engine with the recommended type and mix of coolant.

2022年2月5日 · Be prepared for a little mess of coolant as the thermostat detaches. Pull off the seal/gasket if it didn't already come off with the thermostat. Wipe the housing clean. Install a new thermostat with the seal/gasket attached to the thermostat—there is a groove in the thermostat that holds the seal/gasket.
