The renovation of Dinwiddie Hall is the first campus green building project guided by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (“LEED”) standard. The building was certified LEED Gold in March 2011.

2009年6月10日 · Massive renovations are under way at Dinwiddie Hall, which had been home to several science departments and the Middle American Research Institute. Built in 1923, Dinwiddie Hall is undergoing a 14-month renovation project to make it one of the uptown campus' most energy-efficient buildings.

One of three original buildings of Tulane University, Dinwiddie Hall has occupied its site on St. Charles Avenue since 1923. This complete building renovation includes new classrooms, faculty offices, meeting rooms, and dry labs for the Department of Anthropology, as well as exhibition and collection spaces for the Middle American Research Center.

Dinwiddie was first constructed in 1923 and then enlarged in 1927 in an Elizabethan style with Alabama limestone by Moise Goldstein and Associates architects. The structure today has been updated with eco-friendly features and has received an LEED Gold certification.
